What happens AT THE END of the internship?
While a permanent role isn’t 100% guaranteed, our programme is built to help you land one.
We’ll support you all the way, but it’s up to you to show off your can-do attitude, be on time and stay committed. If you hit the training and performance targets, you’ll boost your chances of scoring a full-time role with your employer!
FAQs
Do you only offer vehicle technician internships?
No, we also have internships in HGV technicians and body paint and repair technicians.
Do I get paid during the internship?
Yes, every intern is paid a wage above the minimum.
What’s it going to cost me?
Nothing at all! Just make sure you’re on time, prepared and fully committed to the internship. We’ll even give you a personal toolkit worth up to £1,000.
What happens after the internship?
Once the programme is complete, the employer may choose to offer you a permanent role. If not, you’ll have valuable experience and additional training to help you land another position in the industry.
What level do I need to have achieved?
We look for students with one or more of the following qualifications (Level 2 or 3):
- Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Motorsport Maintenance and Repair
- Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair
- Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Paint and Body
- Mechanic Electrical Trim (Level 3)
- Body Repair (Level 3)
- Refinishing (Level 3)
- These can be IMI, City and Guilds or ABC Awards qualifications.
Can I do this while still studying?
No, all internships are full-time, so you must have completed your Level 2-3 qualifications before applying.
Can you find me a job without an internship?
From time to time have clients who would like to employ a college leaver straight after college, without an internship. Register your details and we’ll be touch to see what kind of role you are looking for.
Will I have a mentor in my day to day role?
Yes! You will be appointed an in-placement mentor to guide you through your daily work, alongside ongoing support from Autotech Academy to ensure you get the most out of your experience.
